Muay Thai Mum Raises £5,000 for Domestic Abuse Survivor charity

Donna Elsey: Top Fundraiser for Hillingdon Women’s Centre

Season after season, our fighters inspire us with their raw determination and meaningful impact. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Donna Elsey, our top fundraiser from Season 29, who knocked it out of the park with an incredible £5,000 for Hillingdon Women’s Centre.

Donna, a massage therapist from Ealing, stepped into the ring and chose Muay Thai as her weapon of choice. For 8 gruelling weeks, she pushed herself to the limit, balancing two weekly Muay Thai sessions (for technical skills), strength & conditioning classes (to build fighting stamina), and one-on-one coaching with coach Samir at Gymbox Ealing. All while juggling her full-time job running Soma Room Ealing, and being a dedicated mum.

Donna’s unwavering grit was fuelled by her supporters’ generosity and her mission to create a safe space for women facing domestic abuse. On fight night, she showcased her hard-earned skills, rolling with the punches and completing all 3 rounds with sheer determination. She may not have won the gold this time, but Donna stood champion as the season’s top fundraiser.

The Impact of Fundraising on Domestic Abuse Services

For Donna, the biggest win was the incredible support she received from her fans, all contributing to creating an inclusive space for women at Hillingdon Women’s Centre. The funds raised have been crucial for the centre’s Domestic Abuse services, covering the costs of two six-week cohorts of their recovery program, Pathways to Healing. These trauma-focused sessions empower survivors to recognise the signs of domestic violence, understand healthy relationships, and grasp how trauma affects their lives and their children’s lives.

Donna’s advice for anyone considering joining Fight Camp?

“Take the training seriously and you’ll enjoy fight night more. And heed the mindfulness advice that’s shared in the prep emails each week of fight camp – I underestimated the mental and emotional weight of training and competing. I wish I had followed that advice more closely.”

Donna’s story defines the The White Collar Fight Club spirit: pushing personal boundaries while making a real difference. We’re honoured to have fighters like her in our corner.
